Future Neenah Recognizes Businesses and Partnerships of the Year

Future Neenah celebrates the outstanding partnerships that helped us achieve community success in 2017.

Neenah, WI- Future Neenah recognized the following individuals and businesses that, through partnerships, made serving as Neenah’s quality of life organization a pleasure in 2017. These honorees have hearts for community service and a love of Neenah.

Corporate Citizen of the Year Award: Tundraland

Tundraland was recognized for extraordinary contributions by a business to the overall quality of life enjoyed in our community. This award acknowledges both civic leadership and sponsorship.

Tundraland has contributed to the quality of life in Neenah by collecting boxes of school supplies to help those in need. They also created a Tundraland Wonderland at A Very Neenah Christmas in 2016. Amy Barker, Executive Director of Future Neenah said, “They completely remodeled the idea of a typical event sponsor by increasing community impact with their own special ways of giving back.”

Friend of Neenah Award: Jake Lamb/Pump n’ Munch

Jake Lamb and the Pump n’ Munch team were recognized for outstanding, positive influence on the community. Their civic participation has made a significant impact in Neenah.

Jake Lamb served as Future Neenah Board President, the StreetBall 25 committee, supported music in our community, is an ongoing host of the marshmallow roast at A Very Neenah Christmas and is always willing to lend Future Neenah a hand. Pump n’ Munch also benefits other community clubs and activities by hosting fundraising events at their business. Barker added, “Jake’s impact on all he does is so unique that adding ‘Jakeness’ has become a new verb frequently used by our organization: it means a Jake Lamb version of finesse we strive for in what we do.”

Volunteer of the Year Award: Troy Noel – Edward Jones

Volunteers are the unsung heroes and the unpaid staff of the nonprofit organization. The volunteer of the year gives significantly and unselfishly of their time to the organization, this is especially true of Troy.

Troy Noel of Edward Jones contributes to the quality of life by unselfishly giving his time and resources to make our events and organization stronger.  Barker said, “Everyone who knows Troy, knows that the force is strong with this one.”

 Downtown Business of the Year Award: Town Council Kitchen and Bar

Town Council Kitchen and Bar was recognized for embracing the Downtown brand of “Downtown Neenah Unequaled.”

Town Council is a Downtown Neenah destination driver. Chef Jon Horan has been part of the chef crew for our Farm to Table event the past two years, was a chef for Taste on the Trestle, locally sources at the Neenah Farmers Market and participates in the Future Neenah/Downtown Neenah events. “Chef Jon makes a love connection between his food and your taste buds and bartender Sean is the master of mixology! Town Council Kitchen and Bar truly embodies the word unequalled,” stated Barker.

Civic Partner of the Year Award: Doty Island Development Council (DIDC)

Future Neenah recognized the Doty Island Development Council (DIDC) and its volunteers as an organization that exemplifies partnership with the community, a group with which Future Neenah has been able to unite forces to enrich the quality of life in the Neenah community.

The DIDC is a neighborhood builder. President Jacy Park has been a tremendous advocate and partner. Barker added, “DIDC has supported Navigate Neenah-Menasha, Habitat for Humanity Rock the Block through their service and continually work towards beautifying Doty Island for all to enjoy. We are grateful for their collaboration and impact on our community.”
