May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Posted on by Future Neenah

Expanding to Meet the New and Growing Needs of the Community in 2021

A Healing Place Complete Counseling Care is expanding their practice with additional offices in Downtown Neenah and growing their staff team. Currently they have 8 practitioners and are also looking to add more. Covid, the advent of telehealth and additional marketing spurred the expansion.

Covid changed the landscape of mental health care bringing with it anxiety, depression, financial and marriage stress, and students struggling with the switch from in person to virtual schooling. With some restrictions now being lifted and widespread availability of the vaccine, some people are still fearful and have difficulties getting back to life as normal. According to Lisa Anderson LPC, CSW, “Covid made it more acceptable to get mental health help. Trauma is trauma no matter the source, but the collective trauma of Covid made it ok to come for help. Mental health practitioners were going through the same issues as their clients at the time, but it was important for us to be there for our clients.”

May is mental health awareness month and Anderson reminds us, “There should be no stigma in seeking mental health care, it should be the same as seeing your doctor We believe that with the right care, happiness and recovery are possible.”
