      October 2nd – 6 Pillars of Brain Health

      With LaReina Tipping, Program Manager from the Brain Center of Green Bay

      Learn about the essential habits and protective measures under your control to promote healthy aging and maintain good cognitive health throughout life. Key presentation points will include brain foods and nutrition, brain and body benefits of physical exercise and restorative sleep, appropriate stress management and social stimulation, and avoidance of toxins. Become aware of neuroplasticity – our brain’s amazing ability to adapt, change and create new pathways in response to experiences, further information, or damage.

      November 6th – Hollywood versus History: Ancient Rome

      With Gregory Aldrete, Professor Emeritus, University of Wisconsin – Green Bay

      Have you ever wondered how accurate your favorite Roman movie is? This talk will examine several of the most famous films set in ancient Rome, including Ben-Hur (1959) and Gladiator (2000), and reveal the historical accuracy of their plot, sets, costumes, and characters.  In addition, you’ll hear interesting stories about the challenges that the filmmakers faced in bringing ancient Rome to vivid cinematic life.
