Digging Deep: Mining in China

The public is invited to discover what makes mineral specimens so rare and special on Wednesday, October 4, during Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company’s annual community event entitled Digging Deep: Mining in China.

The presentation begins at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m. at Jewelers Mutual headquarters. Join presenter Steven C. Behling for a deep dive into the challenges and trends of mining for fine mineral specimens worldwide and the impact of China on mineral specimen supply and demand. Before the presentation, guests are also invited to explore the R. Harder Gallery of Gems and Minerals, one of the top private collections of minerals in the country. People in attendance may also enter for a chance to win a jewelry prize as part of the evening’s event. The jewelry giveaway is free and all those in attendance may enter once. Space is limited and advanced registration is required. The event will be held in the Earl DeLong Auditorium inside Jewelers Mutual’s headquarters.
