The Neenah Public Library, in collaboration with Deb Skyrms, will offer a free five-week course on “Mindful Living”.
Class participants will explore the many benefits of living mindfully – resulting in a less stressful life. You’ll learn how to meditate, manage emotions, and challenge negative thoughts. Throughout the class, the book, Slowing Down to the Speed of Life, by Richard Carlson and Joseph Bailey, rev. ed. 2009, will be used in discussions. Attendees will need to purchase a copy of the book prior to the class. (Available through online retailers.)
The class will be taught by Deb Skyrms, a Licensed Professional Counselor. Deb was a mental health therapist for ThedaCare and most recently an adjunct faculty member at Fox Valley Technical College teaching the class, “Living Mindfully.”
The five-week class will be held at the Neenah Public Library on Wednesdays: September 7, September 14, September 21, September 28, and October 5 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The class is free; Registration is required. Please call to register: 920-886-6300 or email [email protected]. Class size is limited.
