The Neenah Public Library will offer free 8-week group ukulele classes for beginning ukulele players and for those who need a refresher with playing chords, strumming, and picking. Taught by musician and native Hawaiian, Sam ‘Ālika Bader. All ages are welcome.
Classes begin on Thursday, September 27, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Library’s Storytime Room. Bring your own ukulele or reserve one of the Library’s ukuleles. An extra loaner ukulele is also available for use during classes. Note: Classes will be held based on the instructor’s availability. When classes aren’t held, the open jam will begin at 6:00 p.m. For more information, contact the Neenah Public Library Adult Services Department at 920-886-6315.
A ukulele open jam follows each Thursday night class. Open to anyone interested in playing with other ukulele players. Bring your own ukulele – banjoleles and guitars welcome, too (and whatever else you’d like to play). Music provided – or bring a piece you’d like to share with others. The open jams are held from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Uke on, Neenah!
