FUTURE NEENAH NAMES AMY BARKER AS ITS NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

NEENAH – Future Neenah, Inc. announced today that Amy Barker has been appointed as the organization’s Executive Director.

Barker has been the Tourism Director for the Waupaca Area Chamber of Commerce since 2007.  Prior to that, she was the Event Manager at The Weidner Center for the Performing Arts in Green Bay, and Project Manager for the New London Riverfront Renovations Initiative.

In announcing Barker’s appointment, Future Neenah Board President Carol Wilhelm said, “On behalf of the entire organization, I am very pleased to welcome Amy as our next Executive Director.  She brings an enthusiasm and passion for economic and cultural development that will serve us well.  With over 10 years experience working for non-profit organizations, Amy has the leadership skills we need to grow and prosper,” she added.

In accepting the Future Neenah appointment, Barker stated, “I am absolutely excited about this opportunity.  The organization has a long history of success in delivering quality events and services to the Neenah community.  I look forward to continuing that tradition, while at the same time exploring innovative ideas for new initiatives,” she noted.

Barker will begin her duties on September 7.  She replaces Robert Buckingham, who resigned in April to take a position with the Town of Grand Chute as its Community Development Director.
