Neenah, WI,  June 11, 2015-   Future Neenah, Inc. has partnered with the Neenah-Menasha YMCA Art Department  to showcase instructor artwork in Downtown businesses for the month of June.  Future Neenah is working with local organizations to promote the arts in Neenah through an event called Creative Saturday Stroll.  Creative Saturday Stroll is being held May through October.  For each of these months Future Neenah works with a different organization pairing their artwork with a Downtown business. The business displays the artwork from the second Saturday of the month through the end of the month.  In June, nine businesses will have the YMCA  art instructors’ work in their front windows for visitors’ enjoyment.

Amy Barker, Executive Director of Future Neenah and Darlene Pawelkiewicz, Arts & Humanities Coordinator for the Neenah Menasha YMCA, wanted to educate the public on the variety of art classes offered at the YMCA as well as showcase the talents of the Y’s art instructors.  Art work on display includes pottery, pastels, charcoal drawing, watercolor and ink, tie-dye shirts, racu, 3-D art, and glassware.

Barker said, “We have very talented artists in Neenah and Future Neenah is happy to help promote the YMCA’s Arts and Humanities program. I’m so impressed with the quality and variety of work their art instructors have produced.”  Barker explained Future Neenah is hoping Creative Saturday Stroll will encourage attendees of Future Neenah’s very popular Farmers Markets to continue their Saturday morning in Neenah by exploring the nearby businesses. Barker also noted the business engagement. “The businesses are happy to support the artists by displaying their work as it encourages people to explore our very walkable Downtown District as they enjoy the art show.”

A map and directory for Creative Saturday Stroll can be found on the Future Neenah website at www.neenah.org.  Maps will also be available at the Farmers Market and displayed at the Future Neenah office, 135 W. Wisconsin Ave.

Artists interested in displaying their work should contact Future Neenah at 920-722-1920.

Future Neenah, Inc. is a community driven non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the economic and cultural vitality of the Neenah area.
