POOCHES & PAGES: KIDS READING TO THERAPY DOGS

In Pooches & Pages, children read aloud to registered therapy dogs that are gentle, calm and polite and listen patiently and without judgment.  Each is carefully selected to ensure a safe and fun experience, and the owner/handlers are library volunteers who love helping children become enthusiastic readers. Reading to dogs builds reading confidence, increases a child’s self-esteem relative to reading, helps a child maintain focus for a longer period of time, helps a child become more confident reading aloud, and increases the motivation to read. Register your child for a 15-minute appointment between 10:00 and 11:30 a.m. for the first fall session by calling us, or visiting our website at www.neenahlibrary.org
